Cognitive Dissonance Theory

-Cognitive dissonance theory is the distressing of the mental state caused by inconsistency between a person’s two belief or a belief and an action.

The classic film “Deliver us from Eva” is based on three sisters that are trying to live a romantic life with their counterparts. Eva is the “evil” older sister that intervene in the relationships of her sisters. The husbands of Eva sisters plotted to have Eva removed by having someone occupy Eva’s time. This is when smooth guy LL Cool J playing as “Ray” that is talked into being paid to sweet Eva off of her feet. The issue of the problem is that LL Cool J is doing the dirty deed for money, which is always a bad move. Once the deal was made the process of keeping Eva occupied was in full affect until feelings got involved. Finally, LL Cool J wants to come clean about the bad deed that he proceeded in to keep Eva out of her sisters love life with their husbands, but the guys that put LL Cool J “Ray” up to the process did not agree with that. So they tied Ray up and framed his death until LL breaks free and bust through the church door with this bright glow of light behind LL such as he was God to spill the beans of the mission he exceeded in.

Moral of this story is that LL Cool J playing “Ray” took on this role not inspecting to fall in love, which he did and did not believe in keeping the game going for much longer after falling for Eva. Once LL came to his senses he came to his conscious to finally do what is right and let everyone know the truth behind everything.
