Week 7 and we’re almost in heaven!

And yet another week is in the books at CCT! I had a really busy weekend with a couple friends coming into town to visit, so I apologize for the delay in posting a day late!

Because the team as a whole is pretty small as it is, we all tend to work individually within our own departments and then come together once a week or once every other week for a staff meeting to go over what we’ve been working on. Every morning, my boss, Patrick, will think of a list of things for me to do and then I will personally do them on my own. I think this is a productive way of working, although sometimes I do wish there were more collaborative opportunities on which I could work so I could hone my teamwork skills in the creative professional world. Additionally, because I work mostly alone, I have to make sure I’m on task at all times because it’s really easy to get off task when you’re working on your own. This kind of work has definitely been a really, really valuable learning experience!

One highlight from my week was exploring more of Chicago with my friends who visited me. Yes, I have lived here my whole life, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve begun to explore different neighborhoods and go on various outings. So the big highlight was going to a concert at Wrigley Field on Friday to see Dead & Company, a conglomeration of some Grateful Dead members and John Mayer. It was an absolute blast! Some other toursity things we did in the city were visiting “The Ledge” at the Sears Tower, kayaking, and walking around Millennium Park. I can’t believe my summer in Chicago will be over in a little more than a month!
