Teamwork Makes The Dream Work
Hello everyone! I hope that y’all have had incredible weeks.
This week at my internship, we spent the majority of our time preparing for our 2-day long Young Women Run event held at the AT&T Forum for Technology, Innovation, and Policy in Washington, DC which will take place on July 17th & 18th. The event is for college-aged women and young professional women interested in running for office. We are excited to host incredible speakers such as Leader Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen! We will have workshops and breakout sessions to learn about effective elevator pitches, media training, and fundraising for campaigns.
Most of the work that I do in the office consists of projects where interns work in teams. This allows for a friendly, collaborative, and creative work environment. For example, we are creating a campaign manual for women candidates and each intern is writing their own section. After their section is complete, it is peer-edited and reviewed many times by other interns so that we are able to create the most complete, successful campaign manual possible.
The highlight of my week was hanging out with my friends and exploring the Georgetown area! We went shopping for birthday presents for our siblings and had a great time relaxing by the Waterfront! Another highlight was having the opportunity to meet our 6 high school interns in the office. They are all super motivated, intelligent, and passionate about bringing young women into the political sphere.
Best always,
Daniella Feijoo
