Interning with Pruitt

PruittHealth is a company based out of Atlanta who specializes in rehabilitation and skilled nursing home facilities. Having been in business for over 45 years, the company is one of the leading groups in the industry, driven to achieve excellence. They offer services ranging from skilled nursing home facilities, acute rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and pharmacy services. I have been traveling throughout North Carolina for the first couple of weeks of my internship, and this week was no exception. I traveled to Charlotte, Winston, and Rock Hill, SC. While all of my visits to facilities have been exciting thus far, I have really enjoyed being in a hospital setting with transition nurses. These individuals travel to see different patients who have been referred to Pruitt’s rehab facilities, and pitch to them why they think they should choose Pruitt to care for them. It is extremely similar to a sales pitch, which is what interests me so much. I really enjoyed getting to meet case managers at hospitals who are in charge of these referrals, and seeing a referral turn into an admission.
