Before the First Day…
Hello Everyone,
My name is Lane Ingram and I am a rising senior at Wake Forest. I am a Health & Exercise Science major with minors in both biology and psychology. On campus, I am involved in a few organizations in which I hold near and dear to my heart. I am currently the vice president of the fishing team on campus (yes, we really do have a fishing team), and have been blessed with the opportunity to travel the southeast competing in tournaments with other collegiate anglers. I am also on the fundraising committee for Best Buddies, which is a group who seeks to create one on one friendships with individuals who suffer from intellectual and developmental disabilities. I have really enjoyed working with these individuals this year, and hope to create lasting friendships in the future.
Upon graduation, I would love to find myself working in the medical sales industry. I have a passion for orthopedics, due to undergoing 5 rotator cuff surgeries on my shoulders from a football injury. Medical sales have been an interest of mine for the last few years, and I am particularly interested in orthopedic and surgical device sales. Eventually I would love to be a surgery salesman, who scrubs into surgeries in order to assist the doctor with the product in which I would be selling.
I am extremely excited for my opportunity this summer with PruittHealth. I plan to observe many different facets of healthcare, including nursing home administration and hospital sales. I believe this information will be extremely useful moving forward in my future career, because I will be able to view how interactions between salesmen and potential buyers will be facilitated. One of the main goals I have set for myself this summer is to gain an understanding on the many different aspects of sales, and how they are obtained. I plan to shadow and assist as many different sales team members as possible, in order to see how different people handle different situations. Overall, I believe this knowledge will be extremely useful and an asset to my future success in the industry.
