Downtown Winston-Salem Historic Marker Program Honors Local History
The Historic Marker Program is a local and county sponsored program to honor historically significant sites in Winston-Salem and throughout Forsyth County. The markers are approved by the Forsyth County Historic Resources Commission, and can include individual buildings or entire neighborhoods both of national or local importance. According to the website, the program “seeks to highlight the full range of endlessly interesting local history that our city has to offer.”
